B. PHARM

(Bachelor of Pharmacy)

Total Duration:- 8 semester (4 years) comprising of 100 working days each + 150 hours of training.

The institute offers 4 years Professional Bachelor Degree in Pharmacy (B. Pharm) with an intake of 60 students per year.

Eligibility For Admission

A candidate who has undergone any of the following courses in English medium and passed the examination with an aggregate of 50% marks in the optional subjects.
Higher Secondary Examination of Govt. of Kerala with Physics, Chemistry & Biology/Mathematics/ as optional subjects.
Any other Examination with Physics, Chemistry & Biology /Mathematics/ Biotechnology/ Computer Science as optional subjects approved as equivalent to any of the above examinations by the Kerala University of Health Sciences, Thrissur, Kerala.

B.PHARM LATERAL ENTRY

(Direct Admission to Second Year B. Pharm)

Total Duration:- 6 semester (3 years) comprising of 100 working days each + 150 hours of training.

Eligibility For Admission

A candidate who has passed the Diploma in Pharmacy course of Educational Regulations 1991 under Pharmacy Act 1948 from an institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India with a minimum of 50% marks in the final year examinations, undergone practical training for 500 hours and has registered his qualification with Pharmacy Council of India.

About the Course

Pharmacy is the art and science of preparing and dispensing drugs and medicines. The pharmacy profession links the health sciences with the chemical sciences, and it is charged with the responsibility of ensuring safe and effective use of drugs. Pharmacists are health professionals who practice the science of pharmacy. B. Pharm is a prestigious professional degree course. B. Pharm degree holder is trained in all the aspects pertaining to manufacturing, analysis and appropriate use of medicines. Pharmacy students are trained in Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology, Pharmacognosy, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Analysis, Microbiology, Pharmacy Practice (including drug interactions, medication review, and medication therapy management), Pharmacy law, Physiology, Anatomy, Biochemistry, Pharmacokinetics, Pharmacoinformatics, Drug design and Discovery, Drug Logistics, Regulatory affairs and Pharmaceutical care. Additional curriculum covers diagnosis with emphasis on laboratory tests, disease state management, therapeutics and prescribing, and selecting the most appropriate medication for the patients
